Season's Blessings

Merry Christmas! Our home has been pleasantly accused of being a decently decorated masculine decor for the holidays and year round.

The balmy New England weather allowed us to enjoy an outdoor fireside, soup & entree on Christmas Eve as the fog rolled in with the temp at a pleasant 67 degrees or so. To many, the wish of a 24 hour period of snow seems a childhood wish of a perfect moment in Christmas memories that have passed. This year I got to see it differently, we had so many mornings of New England fog that there was a perfect winter beauty about the cloudy air that floated along the grass in the mornings. It was a welcomed change from the snow.

Holidays are more of what we make of the time with whom we spend and less about what we have to put under a tree. Last year visiting family for Christmas, it had been three years since being home for the holidays. Yet the best part had very little to do with any presents and most was just the moment of being present and sharing time with each other. This was a year that I put all other visits third on the list because family was the priority and every moment was going to be enjoyed with family. I had so many great stories to come home with last year.I also learned how to make profiteroles last year as our "assigned"

Christmas recipe for the holiday meals. Old traditions and new traditions are part of what make the holidays a time to look forward to spending with family and friends.

In this same trip last year a spark of creativity brought about on the plane ride out to see family that led to writing a Christmas play. This project is soon to be finished up in 2016. In a quick 72 hours most of the scripting for the play and its music was sketched out. Perhaps 2016 will be the Christmas that brings a new tradition to life!

Happy holidays and a prosperous new year to all!
